In taiwan there was no domestic manufacturer of metro trains or tramways so they developed their own industry over time. In the trams everything is domestically produced, but with technical help from abroad, so it is easy, everything is made by TRSC (Taiwan Rolling Stock Company). It is the only domestic maker (Kaohsiung trams from France and Spain).

But, in the metro trains it is a totally different story and maybe it is not accurate to put the trains as Kawasaki. Let me show what I mean.

C371, trains before 2008 are listed as Kawasaki only because they were made entirely in Japan and exported. Trains beginning in 2008 have Kawasaki listed as a Contractor and TRSC as the Manufacturer.

C381, trains before 2011 are listed as Kawaski only, etc, but trains beginning in 2011 are listed as both, with no extra information.

It seems the Taoyuan Metro local trains were all collaborative

In this photo you can try to read the description

And finally, for the most recent lines like the Taichung Metro and also the Taiwan circular line, I have not seen any photos of the builder yet.
So, my question is how should these individual models be classified? And how should it be done in other cases.

The Sirio model is the best example: it was built (due to circumstances) by 3 different manufacturers.
So the same principle can be used for the metro trains.

A collaboration between 2 or more factories is always possible and in fact, nothing new.
Here you can see how this is done in the database:

Then something like Kawasaki / TRSC or TRSC / Kawasaki: I don't know who built this metro trains. I expect TRSC with a license of Kawasaki and then you must use the last option ( TRSC / Kawasaki).

If you don't know the type (Taichun metro) then you need to use (unknown): this also exists in the database.

Take also note that Wikipedia is not always reliable and surely not for a database. I'm happy that I've (as local editor) other sources.
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mat%C3%A9 ... -de-France Even in the content of the French pages I find errors.
That's also the reason why we want as much as possible to work with local editors: they know the "local cuisine". Again: I've reliable sources for France (tram and electric buses in Paris) but with Wiki the database would be not correct. Of course, I've no idea how accurate Wiki Japan is.

Thanks,
In this case I was referencing wikipedia just because of the pictures people had uploaded onto there: obviously this is reliable information. In some cases, like Thai, I have no chance of understanding anything so I mainly just translate the thai page and it has more information than the english version, etc. But these were my earliest edits and I made a mistake https://transphoto.org/photo/1526070/ The number of this vehicle is unknown from the photo.

From my understanding, when the trains show both Kawasaki and TRSC it means it was built in taiwan, like, contractor VS manufacturer.
